    Cabot Trail pic's added....

Well I finally added the pic's of our visit to Cape Breton.
Luke and I enjoyed ourselves  for sure.......
We stayed in Cheticamp which was awesome, and the weather was just fantastic!
The people there were very friendly and fun :)
I'm looking foward to going again,as it would be beautiful to see in the fall of the year too.
The cabot trail is full of such beauty. The nicest in the world.
You could just sit and stare at all the beauty all day long, and just listen to the sounds of nature.
    It's so peaceful.
No wonder all them Cape Bretoners get around with a smile on all the time :)
Anyhoo the pic's are in the album below, and if your ever gonna visit Nova Scotia,
    ya godda visit Cape Breton.

    June 22

    Things are great!!!

As you can see I haven't been in here very much the last while.
Just things have been so busy here and I really kinda lost interest in my space here.
I'm sure i'll get back into it sometime though, Just dunno when. lol....
Anyhow things are great with Luke and I.
Were keeping busy thats for sure.
The outside work is finally coming together.
We still have a few things left to do though, but it's looking nice around here now.
It's amazing what a few trees and shrubs will do to your landscaping.
The patio is now all finished and painted and everything is all set up on it.
I'm quite pleased how it turned out.
Anyways thought i'd just drop in here to let ya's know that i'm still alive and everything is going great.
If I soon don't get to visit  any of your spaces, have a nice Summer and Take care. OK!!
Now I think i'll go out and enjoy the nice warm sunny weather, And
wait for my sweetie to get home from work.
Here's a tag I made just for him.

    May 15

    Busy!

Wow!! feels like forever since i've been here in my space.
I just haven't been takin the time to do so.
Between getting the housecleaning done, and Luke working both at his job and at home,
it just doesn't leave us both with much time.So we spend whatever time we have with each other.
    Which is really nice :)
Today after work he went out and worked on the patio tryin to get it finished for me.
He just has to skirt it all in now with the lattice, whenever he has the time, then I can paint it.
He sure did a nice job so far. I can't wait till I get all our new things out on it!
Especially the gazbo and new swing.
We still have to bring all my plants and shrubs from out at my brother's place yet.
I was out last week to see how they survived over the winter, and they look great.
But I need to get them moved soon before they get too big.
I think Luke will have the deck finished the next day he has off,
then it will take me a good days work to paint it providing the weather stays good.
So probably looking at next week to get my plants in the ground, as I need to buy a big load of topsoil first.
lol...no end to what I need it seems! lol....
Anyways ....... ya know what's been goin on in my life and why i'm not on spaces incase you were wondering.

Sorry I didn't get around to all you Mum's out there to wish you all a Happy Mum's Day,
I hope you all had a nice one.
Also I want to say Thank you to those of you that stopped by to wish me one and also for the gifts.
That was very sweet of you :)
Anyhoo with that said...I'm odda here.
Take care and have a lovely weekend!

    April 21

    Time I posted a blog :)

Today and the last few days i've been into the spring house cleaning.
Seems like theres no end to it at the moment, but eventually it will get done.

Luke has the bathroom all tore apart ....he had to replace the taps in the tub,
along with a new tub surround.
He has tomorrow off, so he will likely finish that up so I can do my cleaning in there.
I did manage to get the laundry done today though.lol.....after moving all his tools and stuff.

Not much else going on with me.
I do go out on some runs with sweetie for something to do.
The other night when we were out, a deer ran out in front of the tractor-trailor.
It was just like the poor thing exploded when we hit it.
It really bothered us,because there was no way it could have been avoided.
You never know where your gonna see a deer at these days.
    They are everywhere.
Anyhoo just thought it was time I posted a blog.
    Have a great day everyone.

    April 10

Life is like a train journey.

Life is like a train journey.

The day you are born you unwittingly get on board the train, and if you are lucky you are in first class, as your parents look after your every need and things are good for a while. In fact things are so good you don't even know you are on a journey.

Then as time goes by you begin to realise that the journey only lasts a limited time and for a while this idea begins to consumer you, but as with most things this passes. As the train moves on you may find you are moved down to second or even third class seats but still the train rumbles relentlessly onward and your view changes.

Occasionally the train is stopped or derailed by loss, hardship, illness or adversity and at these times you have an deeper understanding that the journey will eventually end for you when you enter the tunnel just on the horizon. However for now the tunnel is a dot on the horizon. You are aware of it but for now the view is unobscured and the sky is blue.

The train roles on and the other passengers occupy your attention for a while until one day you look up and there is more track behind you than in front and the tunnel is far closer than we realised. We feel it is a dark, scary inevitability and it blocks out our view of the country side around us. The tunnel is like a huge beast into the belly of which we are travelling.

As we enter the tunnel we should remember we have always travelled alone our life is a journey only we have experienced and all tunnels lead somewhere. Finally the journey ends and the train grinds to a halt but in the distance is a light, tiny and faint but a light never the less.

Don't be afraid of the dark; be excited at the prospect of a new journey, at the possibility of travel, the enormity of the journey and the light at the end of the tunnel.

    Spring is Alive !

    Spring is Alive !

The river-water dances in the morning sun
    on a beautiful April day;
Birds are already feeding their young -
    spring is having its way.

    Buds are showing on shrubs and trees;
plants coming up lush and green.
Crocus' bloom in regal dress -
a welcome sight to be seen.

God gives us seasons for His good reasons
    and all are quite unique;
Each tells a story of wondrous glory
and gives us answers we seek.

    Spring is rebirth everywhere;
    spiritually - time to learn.
We see the wonders He performs
    and to understand, we yearn.

    Watching Nature is watching God
    and knowing that life carries on;
    From winter's death to spring's rebirth -
    nothing is ever gone.

Spring - my favourite time of year -
God's gift of hope and light.
    Gentle whispers awaken my soul
    and everything feels right.

In Loving Memory of My Uncle John Hallett AKA (JawBone)

On April 1st my last living uncle John AKA (Jawbone) passed away from Fabry's disease at the age of 62.
He was my mom's only brother.
He will be missed very much, and will always be in my heart.
This poem is in Memory of him.

    His Journey's Just begun
Don't think of him as gone away-
    his journey's just begun,
    life holds so many facets-
    this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
    from sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
    that we could know today
    how nothing but our sadness
    can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost-
and he was loved so much.

May you Rest in Peace ''Jawbone" I love ya buddy!

Variety is the spice of life

I enjoy variety of all sorts and truly believe it is the spice of life.
Did you know that people come in the most varieties of all; And no two are exactly the same.
I believe each person has a significant gift to share and a unique journey to live.
    Don't cha think?

    FRIENDS

For me the sun will always shine,
    the birds will always sing
    for I've found something
    more precious than life
    something close to my being;

I have what others strive for
and try to find here and there,
I have what others would care for
    yet know not how to share;

It's the spice of life - a gift from God
    It's a commodity that's very rare
It's a basket full of spring flowers
    It gladdens the heart and lays it bare;

It makes me sing when I walk
It makes me skip and want to dance
It's a feeling of gladness - a taste of joy
    that others can see at a glance;

What is this quality that gives me hope
and reinforces my faith in humanity?
The greatest joy of my life -
    Friends simply save my sanity

    That Spring Feeling

    Whenever I see a chickadee,
    he always makes me smile.
Whenever I hear the goldfinch sing,
    things are all worthwhile.
Whenever I feel the warmth of the sun,
I know it is smiling on me.
Whenever I touch spring's tiny buds,
I know they'll soon be free.
Whenever I smell the air in spring,
    after gentle showers,
I know that whenever the time is right
I'll see God's gift of flowers.

    A Crown of Thorns

    A Crown of Thorns

There was, upon this earth, a Savior
Who came to cleanse and heal.
He wore a crown of thorns upon His head,
    Our souls to ever seal.

He gave up the crown of Glory
That was rightfully His, that day ~
That He came to earth to give
Unto all men, a glorious stay.

He put aside His own sweet crown,
    His signet ring that day,
That, maybe, all would come and walk
    In His dear righteous way.

He loved us with a love so pure.
On His head He wore a crown of thorns,
That His love would cleanse the world
    And man could be reborn.

Mighty is the name of this Savior,
    Jesus. He redeemed the day
For all who would accept Him
And walk along His righteous way.

They hung Him upon an old rugged Cross,
    A thief on either side.
But, the day He comes back, again,
He’ll take us to be His bride.

If we give our Hearts to Him
Who bore our shame on Calvary’s Cross,
    Though we’ve sinned o’er and o’er,
    We’ll suffer no loss ...

But, only if we claim Him as Savior
And are not filled with shame.
Then, that fateful day, in Glory,
    He’ll proudly proclaim our name.

This is the love of one so dear ~
    That He suffered agonizing pain
So, when this life on earth is over,
Through Him, we’ll be joined again.

By His tender mercies and pain
Of a crown of thorns upon His head,
He will raise us up to Glory, as was He
    After they pronounced Him dead.

Spring has sprung!! Well almost :)

    The sound of Spring.
    Makes its self know,
    With sudden changes...
    Small steps go unnoticed,
    To the common passer-by.
    Awareness obscured by repetition,
Like the beating of heart and its sounds...
We do not perceive the beating,
Then in silence and calm ...
    A roaring is perceived.
The maddening beating of a healthy heart.
    The wind blows.
    As it does everyday.
    Then in a flash,
    Recognition!
    Our perception craves awareness.
Spring is a great voice of Nature.
In silence we may hear its sound.
    In the brightness of day,
    Sudden changes make their appearance,
Which makes the change of Season,
    A moment of great excitement!
We change from Winters cover of white.
    Hidden beneath sleepy flowers,
    Beasts, bugs and reptile...
    Stir from a long winters
    Hibernation.
    Ah, the bulls sing.
    They bellow in great voice.
A song, a song of Spring.
    They awaken the moment,
    Of creation...
    Announcing to all.
Their claim to all within range.
    The great voice of Spring.
    And its stirings.
It is time then to test mettle.
    Strength for strength,
    And Rights to territory.
    In a roar,
    Spring has arrived.
    The days grow longer.
Heat warms the blood into action,
    Both for Man and Beast.
    I stand in silence.
    Aware it is time.
    For springs arrival.
    A whiteness.
    The quiet broken.
With the sound of a new calf,
    Born, a bird flies overhead.
    The land turns green.
    And flowers Bloom.
    I stand in wonder.
    Silence broken...
    With the orchestra,
    Of Spring...
    And its many wonders.
    Awaiting discovery,
In the perception of an alert Mind...
    And a willing Heart.
    To you my mate,
    I send my love.
    And announce my true intent.
    With Spring comes...
    My beating heart.
    Let us share ...
    The arrival of Spring,
    In the silence,
    Touching one the other.
    In Natures kind embrace,
    The arrival of spring!
